About Me

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC, BCACC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. For over twenty years I’ve worked alongside children, teens, and the adults who care for them—as an elementary school teacher, a school counsellor in both elementary and high school settings, and as an instructor in post-secondary education.

That background means I understand school culture, family life, and the pressures young people face today. I’m comfortable collaborating with parents, schools, and other supports, and I care deeply about making therapy feel safe, respectful, and genuinely useful for the young person at the centre.

Clinically, my work is grounded in a person-centered practice. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play therapy, and complex trauma therapy, with strong attachment- and somatic-aware influences. I have extensive experience supporting children and youth with anxiety, mood concerns, school stress, family conflict, and the impacts of trauma. I work from a systems lens—whether family, educational, or occupational—so we can pay attention not only to “symptoms,” but to the bigger picture of what’s happening in relationships and environments.

Ongoing learning matters to me. My training includes Complex Trauma (Levels I & II); CBT;  Digital Threat Assessment & Violent Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA); Working with Oppositional/Defiant & Anger Issues in Children and Adolescents; Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Vicarious Trauma; SafeTALK Suicide Prevention; and Addressing Self-Harm.

I meet with clients online and in-person. My commitment is simple: professional, down-to-earth, empathic care that makes room for who you are, what you’ve lived through, and what you need right now—whether you’re a young person seeking support or a caregiver looking for help for your child or teen.
